Yesterday, I ripped on the bus system for not being as wheelchair accessible as it promises to be. But you have to give them credit for making an effort when it comes to making changes to accommodate special needs.

When I climb up staircases where there are no escalators available, or when the escalators are broken, I’m definitely thankful my legs are in good working order.

But, with the new expansion on the orange line, the STM has shown the starts of reworking the metro system to make it wheelchair accessible.

Sure, it’s only 3 stations now, but I know I’ve heard that they’re working on a plan to slowly make more and more stations useable in a wheelchair. It’s an expensive project that won’t come about for a long time, but still, it’s a start.
